I have a keen interest in music and sounds and in the way humans and non-human animals communicate with each other and the environment.

My passion for music began at a young age when I began collecting LPs from the 1970s, mostly psychedelic and progressive jazz, and Krautrock. I wore out all my Gong and Can records!

In the early 90s, I listened to a lot of rave music and trawled around the UK to clubs and free festivals such as The Trewargy Tree Fayre, Glastonbury Festival, Reading, and Castlemorton. My favorite clubs were Megatripolis at Heaven, The Sir George Roby (Reggae nights), and The Crypt in Deptford.

This progressed into a passion for Jungle and Drum and Bass, especially dark sounds and breakbeats such as Metalheadz and Total Science. Regular outings to The Blue Note, Mass, Herbal and The End in London, and Atomics (Maidstone).

More recently, despite still loving old-school music, I enjoy opera and minimalist classical music such as Philip Glass and Steve Reich.

I have begun collecting sounds from nature and mixing these with visual media to highlight aspects of human and non-human animal entanglements inspired by my recent academic research in anthrozoology, and my experiences with living and working with equines in diverse environments and cultures.
